About River Route Transit
River Route Transit is a collaborative service created by the South Grenville municipalities – Augusta Township, City of Brockville, Town of Prescott, and Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal—to connect communities along the scenic St. Lawrence River corridor. What began as a pilot project in 2021 has grown into a reliable public transit link between Brockville and Cardinal, supporting both local residents and visitors alike.
Running along County Road 2, the route travels through Brockville, Augusta, Prescott, and Edwardsburgh Cardinal in a convenient loop, connecting riders to major employment hubs such as INVISTA, the Prescott Industrial Park, Giant Tiger Distribution Centre, and Ingredion Canada. Designed with commuters in mind, River Route has become an essential part of how people get to work across the region.
At the same time, the service opens the door to exploring everything South Grenville has to offer. From waterfront parks and historic downtown Prescott to local shops, restaurants, golf courses, and seasonal events, River Route makes it easy to plan a day trip without needing a car. Whether you’re heading to work, meeting friends for lunch, or discovering a new stop along the river, the route offers a simple and affordable way to get around.
